Cachia: The Challenge.
How do you launch a brand from a hugely successful social media following? This was the question that Sophie Cachia and Leah Betts had when they were planning their latest venture.
We first met Sophie and her business partner Leah through the Naked Ambition Design Thinking bootcamp. Soon after, we started a three month engagement with the Cachia team.
Sophie and Leah had an idea and the passion to launch but they needed our help to understand how best to ensure that they understood and could meet the needs of their customers.
We love the expression "Every start-up is like a series of hypotheses". You know a certain amount about your target customer but there is lots to learn. The initial focus of our engagement with Cachia was to introduce ways to better understand the customer. We also wanted to help Sophie and Leah build a firm foundation of common understanding around the business model.
What We Did.
We worked with the Cachia team to map out their customer journey so they could create the seamless end-to-end customer experience they were dreaming of. We introduced the value proposition canvas to map out ways to ensure that the portfolio of products were addressing some of their clients biggest pain points. We got Sophie and Leah to undertake some design research by conducting user interviews and by testing early concepts for the website content and layouts.
Using a tool from Strategyzer called a business model canvas we got Sophie and Leah to work through elements of their own business model to get clarity around their customer segments and relationships, the channels they were planning to use, their revenue streams and their costs.
We facilitated conversations between Sophie and Leah to get them to think about how they were planning to organise the front and back end of their business to ensure it delivered a great experience to their customers.
CACHIA.shop launched in 2017 by media personality and self-proclaimed legend Sophie Cachia.
Two of the first three Cachia products sold out within just weeks of their release. By putting their customers at the heart of what they were doing, even in the planning stages, Cachia has successfully applied design thinking to set themselves up for a very bright future.
